Why a unit converter comes in handy more than you'd think
Unit conversion isn't just a school-maths topic — it quietly shows up in the middle of everyday things, usually at the exact moment you don't want to stop and do the maths yourself. A few situations where it's genuinely useful:
Cooking a recipe from overseas
A recipe in cups and Fahrenheit doesn't help much if your kitchen scale reads grams and your oven's in Celsius. Rather than guessing, converting the measurements upfront means the recipe actually turns out the way it's supposed to.
Travelling somewhere with different units
Road signs in kilometres when you're used to thinking in miles, or a weather forecast in Celsius when you only have a feel for Fahrenheit — small conversions like these make a new place easier to get a handle on, especially in the first few days.
DIY and home projects
Furniture or building instructions from an overseas brand sometimes come in inches instead of centimetres, or vice versa. Converting before you cut or measure once is a lot less costly than converting after.
Fitness and nutrition tracking
Nutrition labels, gym equipment, and fitness apps don't always agree on kilograms versus pounds. Keeping the numbers consistent makes it much easier to actually track progress over time.
Shopping from an overseas site
Clothing sizes, shoe sizes, and product dimensions vary by region — a quick conversion before checkout is a lot cheaper than a return.
Sort it in seconds
