FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole process โ reading, resizing and compressing โ happens locally in your browser using the canvas API. Your image is never sent to a server.
JPEG, WebP or PNG โ which should I pick?
JPEG is the smallest option for photos. WebP usually compresses even smaller at the same quality and is supported by all modern browsers. PNG is lossless (no quality slider) so it stays larger, but it's the right choice for graphics with transparency or sharp edges like logos and screenshots.
Why is the quality slider greyed out?
PNG is a lossless format, so there's no quality setting to adjust โ you'll only see file-size savings from PNG if you also reduce the max width.
